How to map a movement, its actors, initiatives and dialogues? Was there a single feminist movement, or were there many initiatives, some in dialogue and others not? What legacies did they build on? Other social movements informed feminist efforts for change, such as antifascism, the squatters’ movement, the leftist students’ movements across Europe, and transnational solidarities against political oppression, apartheid and racism. There were many strategies deployed in the 1970s and 80s by countless groups in the Netherlands, to stand up for their rights as women, but also as non-binary and queer people, and trans men and women. Some left a trace; others did not. This roundtable will bring together archivists and researchers from national and international heritage institutions, representatives of communities whose legacies are currently being archived, and members of grassroots and informal initiatives  to discuss the ways in which we can recognise and preserve a plurality of feminist legacies for the future.

I would like to join Roundtable #5
